PSE opens new operations training center in Puyallup

PSE, along with development partner Trammell Crow Company (TCC), is proud to announce the grand opening of a new operations training center in Puyallup, marking a significant milestone in utility workforce development for the Pacific Northwest region.

Electric and gas utility workers, along with emergency first responders, will receive high-quality training at a centralized location – a first for PSE. Completed in July, the facility is operational and classes are underway.

The new center includes classrooms, labs and outdoor training areas, featuring a simulated residential neighborhood to provide workers and first responders with real-life training experience, such as how to safely repair broken gas lines, approach downed power lines or replace equipment.

The facility will strengthen the critical partnership between utility workers and first responders, ensuring all are better prepared to handle emergencies involving gas lines and electrical systems. When utilities and first responders work together in realistic scenarios, we build coordination and expertise, which can prevent incidents from becoming disasters.
