Put your smart devices to work and join PSE Flex Smart+ to help ease strain on Bainbridge Island’s electric grid. When energy demand is high, PSE may call a “Flex event”, during which your connected devices can automatically make small, temporary adjustments to their operations. It’s almost effortless, and you’ll play an important role as we work together to prevent spikes in energy use. By signing up, you can make an impact – and earn rewards!
Ways to sign up include:
- Flex Smart: Enroll a smart thermostat to let PSE automatically adjust its temperature setpoint during events. Receive 50$ per device for enrolling and $40 per device each year you stay enrolled.
- Flex EV: PSE will remotely signal your home EV charging to happen outside the hours of Flex events. Get $50 for enrolling, plus $0.50 per kWh you save during Flex events.
- Flex Water Heaters: PSE will remotely signal your electric water heater to adjust its operation during Flex events. Get a $20 gift card for enrolling plus a $20 gift card each year you stay enrolled.
- Flex Batteries: Earn money by partnering with PSE and allowing your battery to be called upon during Flex Events, with no action or behavior change required. Get $75 per kWh of battery storage (up to $1,000 total) on enrollment, and $.50 per kWh for your participation during Flex events.
Join Flex Smart+ and Bainbridge Island residents receive a $75 bonus, plus standard Flex incentives. The longer that you're in the program, you can earn more annual incentives.
