Experience renewable energy in action at Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility

Spring is the perfect time to visit PSE's Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility and Renewable Energy Center! Located just 16 miles east of Ellensburg, our facility offers visitors a unique opportunity to see how nature's wind and sun are turned into electricity.
 
Whether you're interested in renewable energy technology, native wildflowers, or outdoor adventure, Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility has something special waiting for you this spring!
 
Tuesday, April 1: 2026 Opening Day. Explore the visitor center (which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, April – October) or join a free guided tour! Tours depart daily from the Renewable Energy Center at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m, no reservation needed.
 
Saturday, April 25: Wildflower and Wind Power Walk. Experience the beauty of the shrub steppe in bloom! This special event combines wind turbine tours, educational presentations, and guided wildflower walks through the beautiful landscape. Come prepared for cross-country hiking with proper footwear and layers. RSVP is required.
 
Sunday, April 26: Run Like the Wind. Ready for a challenge? This exciting race features 5K and 10K options with tough terrain and breathtaking views of Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams, and the Columbia Basin. The race benefits the hard working volunteers of Kittitas County Search and Rescue, and helps fund the supplies for their program. Space is limited to 200 participants, so sign up now at run-like-the-wind.com!
