Construction progress at Murden Cove Substation
To improve electric reliability for Bainbridge Island customers, PSE continues making upgrades at Murden Cove Substation located on Sportsman Club Road NE. We completed a portion of the substation upgrades last year and have been actively working at the substation site over the last few weeks.
In March, our crews successfully delivered and set new glulam poles at the substation and strung wire to connect them. Glulam poles are made from glued laminated timber and are stronger and more durable than regular poles. This important milestone brings us closer to completing the reliability improvements at this substation for our Bainbridge Island customers.
We want to thank our customers for their patience during this construction phase. We know there were traffic impacts and noise from our construction activities, and we appreciate your understanding. The most impactful work has been completed, and while we are still working at the substation site, you can expect fewer community impacts going forward.
We expect the upgrades at Murden Cove Substation to be complete this summer. We will continue to keep the community informed of our progress. To learn more about our work on Bainbridge Island, visit our projects webpage.
