Construction at Murden Cove Substation ramping up in March
To improve electric reliability for Bainbridge Island customers, PSE has been making upgrades at Murden Cove Substation located on Sportsman Club Road NE. We completed a portion of the substation upgrades last year and, starting in March, we will be increasing construction activity at the substation to complete the upgrades.
Crews will bring in and remove equipment at the substation and use a crane to place new power poles and string wire. The most impactful activity is expected to occur late March, early April. You may experience occasional traffic delays during this time. Signs and traffic control flaggers will guide pedestrians and vehicles safely through the work zone.
You can also expect some noise from trucks and heavy machinery during work hours, which are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. During this work, we will continue to provide safe, reliable power and minimize community impacts as much as possible.
We expect the upgrades at Murden Cove Substation to be complete this Summer 2026. We will communicate directly with businesses and residents in the area and continue to keep the community informed of our progress. Thank you for your patience during construction!
