2025 Flex Smart+ by the numbers

Since we launched our energy efficiency pilot program, Flex Smart+, in November 2022, 874 Bainbridge Island customers, for a total of 1,018 devices, have enrolled in the program, and we’ve completed 504 residential home upgrade projects. Because of these customer actions, we’ve saved 1,434,400 kilowatt-hours (kWh) annually (up from 969,774 kWh in 2024). This is enough energy to power 137 homes a year. The table below shows the different types of home upgrade projects we’ve completed, the total number of projects, and the amount of kilowatt-hours saved. 

Thanks to the Bainbridge community’s participation, we reached a key milestone for energy savings we hoped to achieve through this program. As a result, we transitioned from offering increased rebates for energy efficiency projects on Bainbridge Island back to our standard rebates on January 1, 2026.

PSE will continue to implement demand response projects on Bainbridge Island, and Bainbridge Island customers will continue to receive an extra $75 enrollment bonus for joining our automated Flex demand response programs, including: Flex Smart (smart thermostats), Flex EV (electric vehicles), and Flex Water Heaters. If you haven’t joined yet, just click one of the program links to get started!
