On Wednesday, September 29, PSE hosted an information session on electric and magnetic fields (EMF). Over 75 community members registered to attend, and participants asked dozens of thoughtful questions about the impacts of EMF.
Attendees heard from Andrew Thatcher, an independent board-certified health physicist, and Andy Swayne, PSE’s Senior Municipal Liaison Manager, who explained what EMF is, comparative data on EMF levels, and how that relates to health. Andrew and Andy then answered the public’s questions about a wide variety of topics, including the impact of EMF on the body, the impact of wildfires on EMF levels, and the risk associated with lightning strikes and storm outages.
