The PSE Foundation has granted $648,000 to community-based public charity organizations throughout our service area. The grants were awarded following a competitive grant program.
The program sought to fund programs and/or services that ensured community members have access to shelter, food, personal protection equipment (PPE), and other essential services throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Funding was also supplied directly to nonprofit organizations who provide critical services to community members in order to keep their doors open by funding deep cleaning expenses, equipment, or other mandated health and safety requirements.
The following five organizations were selected because of the important work they do to support the Bainbridge Island community. The full list of recipients can be downloaded here.
- Bainbridge Island Child Care Centers
- Bainbridge Island Senior Community Center
- Island Time Activities
"We're grateful for the PSE Foundation’s support during the pandemic, which financed the installation of air sanitizer mechanisms in our HVAC system. This upgrade sanitizes the air that circulates through our facility and will allow us to open sooner and safer for our community,” said Corinne Wolffe, Executive Director at Kids Discovery Museum (KiDiMu). “The PSE Foundation made this important facility upgrade possible and we couldn't do our work in the community without them."
The Puget Sound Energy Foundation is dedicated to keeping our communities safe and prepared where PSE serves and operates. The PSE Foundation is a nonprofit organization that operates independently of Puget Sound Energy. None of the funds will ever come from PSE’s utility customers.
