We understand that living on an island has its benefits, including breathtaking scenery, natural beauty and the thriving local culture. However, the downside is this can create geographical challenges in the event of a natural disaster. That’s why PSE continues to sponsor the Three Days of Preparedness event.

This event is critical in helping the Bainbridge Island community be prepared in the event of a natural disaster like an earthquake. "We're so excited to be hosting our fifth annual Three Days of Preparedness at Bainbridge City Hall, where island residents, as well as our neighbors in the county and across the Puget Sound can learn how they can easily prepare in case a natural disaster occurs in our region,” said Loren Bast, Executive Director. “PSE has been one of our most important fiscal and community partners since year one—we are so grateful to have their support!"

The event will kick off with a speaker’s series at City Hall on Friday, Sept. 27, at 6:30 p.m. Day Two features an Expo Day at City Hall where you can learn from emergency experts, city officials and those in the field on how to prepare. The weekend will conclude on Sunday with a “hubs” shelter demonstration at the Senior Center from 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. PSE staff will be at all three events to answer your questions, and we’ll be giving away emergency preparedness starter kits during the Expo Day. We hope to see you there! To learn more about the event, visit
