When COVID-19 began to impact the Bainbridge Island community, Bainbridge Community Foundation (BCF) activated its Community Response Fund to provide financial resources to local nonprofit organizations for urgent health and human service needs.
Puget Sound Energy’s contributions to the fund have helped us support nutritious food distribution programs, emergency supplies, childcare, housing and rental assistance, and other essential services,” said Jim Hopper, Executive Director of BCF. “Because of the generosity of our donors such as PSE, we’ll be able to continue responding to our community’s needs.” To date, BCF has awarded $861,295 in grants for emergency assistance, with $131,000 coming directly from the Community Response Fund.
