As part of an ongoing effort to improve reliability on Bainbridge Island, we are preparing to begin a project to upgrade the existing electric distribution system to improve safety and electric reliability. This project will take place along Pleasant Beach Drive Northeast.
The upgrades include replacing .80 miles of distribution feeder with tree wire. By installing tree wire in other locations, we’ve reduced power outages related to falling tree branches by up to 95 percent.
Preliminary work for the project began in 2022, and will continue through 2023.
