About Peak Energy Rewards
Peak Energy Rewards is a voluntary energy-efficiency pilot program for Bainbridge Island customers who heat with electricity. The program uses smart technology to help meet our community’s energy needs during winter when demand for electricity is forecasted to peak. It’s part of our hybrid solution to ensure safe, dependable power for families and businesses on Bainbridge Island for years to come.
How it works
You can join by enrolling a qualifying smart thermostat.* If you don’t already have one, you can get one installed through the program with a $350 rebate to help cover costs. PSE will then adjust your temperature set point to smooth out electricity demand during peak periods or “demand response events.” We’ll lower it by a few degrees during events and may raise it ahead of time. You’ll stay warm, and you can always opt out of an event by manually adjusting your thermostat.
