Last year, the City of Bainbridge Island commissioned a housing action plan to identify steps the city could take to meet housing needs for the next 20 years and to create greater housing diversity and affordability. The plan has been long in the making, building from years of community dissatisfaction with housing conditions on the island and efforts by City Council to improve them.
Next month, Housing Resources Bainbridge (HRB) will hold a candidate forum on affordable housing with a focus on the City’s action plan. HRB would like to help community members vote this fall with an understanding of where the candidates stand on affordable housing. HRB Public Policy Specialist, Maggie Rich, will moderate. There will be no live Q&A; however, community members are invited to submit questions for consideration at maggie@housingresourcesbi.org.
