Project overview
As part of an ongoing effort to improve reliability on Bainbridge Island, we are preparing to begin a project to upgrade the existing electric distribution system to improve safety and electric reliability. This project will take place along High School Road Northeast.
The upgrades includes replacing two miles of aging wire with tree wire, replacing dozens of aging utility poles, and upgrading related electric equipment. By installing tree wire in other locations, we’ve reduced power outages related to falling tree branches by up to 95 percent.
Preliminary work for the project began in December 2020, and will continue through late 2021.
