Help us reduce strain on the grid this winter by conserving and shifting your energy use

As you may know, our region experienced a multi-day cold snap last month that strained our electric resources due to high demand. We appreciate all the customers who responded to our call to conserve your energy use. Every little bit helped!

While we’re no longer calling on customers to cut down on your energy use, we always encourage saving energy and shifting your use to non-peak periods (outside the hours of 6 – 8 a.m. and 5 – 7 p.m.) to reduce strain on the grid. Consider washing your dishes or doing your laundry during the middle of the day or later at night. Or, enroll your smart thermostat or water heater in our Flex Smart+ program. Flex Smart+ participants enable PSE to automatically adjust their temperature set point by a few degrees for an average of 2 to 4 hours on days when our experts predict a higher than normal demand for electricity, also known as “Flex events”. This helps smooth out energy demand. If you’d like to join Flex Smart+ or learn more, visit pse.com/flexsmartplus and sign into your PSE account.
